Computer Aided Drawing Lab

South Beloit boasts a CAD (Computer Aided Drawing Lab) which is kept up by Mr. Dean Johnson. Mr. Johnson has extensive experience working in the construction industry in a variety of areas (including CAD design,) CNC machining, woodworking and electrical wiring.

Students in this lab learn how to use programs like AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design projects for buildings and other related endeavors. Some of these plans can later be used to 3D print objects or build the projects themselves, like cutting boards, stools etc. Check back soon for student creations!

This skillset is a prerequisite for a lot of jobs in machining or even design/architecture/building/renovation and broadens the abilities of those students who take the elective.
