Meet Mr. Fisher
Welcome! My name is Joe Fisher and this is my fifth year at South Beloit High School. I am very proud and excited to continue my tenure at SBHS. I currently teach four different subject including Geography, U.S. History, AP U.S. History and AP U.S. Government and Politics. Along with teaching, I am currently the sixth grade boys basketball coach and chaperone the Board Game Club at the high school.
Originally, I am from a small town north of the Quad Cities called Port Byron. I graduated from Riverdale High School in 2008 and attended Black Hawk Community College for 2 years. After graduating from Black Hawk, I attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, graduating with a degree in Social Science Comprehensive-History Emphasis. After graduation, I taught as a substitute teacher in many districts back in the Q.C. area until moving to the Byron area, where I eventually received my first full-time teaching opportunity at SBHS.
Recently, my wife and I moved to Pecatonica. We enjoy the country living and open spaces our new house provides us and our Golden Retriever, Walter. As a family, we enjoy being outdoors, traveling and making therapy visits to local places in need of services. In fact, Walter and I will be seen making visits throughout the district helping out where needed.
Again, I look forward to continuing my teaching career here at SBHS. If you have any concerns or anything you want/need to discuss with me, please feel free to contact me! I look forward to another great year and GO SOBOS!
